Leather tanned with alum is white and produces a very strong leather. This produces a firm, tight-grained leather that is white, it is then dyed with red dye stuffs and called "Red Hide". Used mostly for reins and whip making, our red hide sides are always in great demand. The natural tallows and oils used in the tanning process ensure maximum strength whilst maintaining a supple feel. Available in two thicknesses: 3.2/4.0mm & 1.6/2.4mm
